WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN OZONE AND HYDROXYL GENERATOR?
Hydroxyls (OH) and ozone (03) are both gases that can be used to eliminate odors and pathogens. Both Ozone And Hydroxyl
Radicals are oxidizing reactive species(ORS).
The difference between the two are their active half lifes. An ozone molecule will exist for 20 minutes to an hour before it converts
back to oxygen. Hydroxyl radicals have a maximum life of 2 seconds. This is why Hydroxyl radicals are safer than ozone.
Hydroxyl Radicals can never get to a high level. Both molecules are oxidizing species.
Ozone is powerful in its ability to eliminate odors from protein fires, fuel spills, skunks (and other sulfur compounds), certain VOCs, etc.
Hydroxyls are extremely effective on these odors as well.
• Hydroxyls are safe for people, pets, plants, and sensitive materials. Ozone cannot be used in occupied areas.
• Ozone can work 3-4 times faster than hydroxyl.
